ABOUT US

The past...
The King Stag was built with a Tudor-inspired style, keeping most of its original features. Originally built as a small beer-house in 1866, the building was used as a beer retailers until the late 19th century when it became a public house. The King Stag is thought to have been re-built in c1900. You will see two rainwater hoppers on the front of the pub are both dated ‘1930’. Fast forward just a few years, The King Stag was completely refurbished in 2013 and opened by experienced chef Robert Beckley and his brother-in-law.

The present...
The King Stag is a family-run gastro pub in the heart of Bushey Village. Our ethos is to focus on locally sourced, high quality, fresh food and drink served in a friendly and professional way. We aim to be a hub of the community where local people can come for a coffee, a pint, a meal — or all three!

We love...
Keeping it local; most of our suppliers are within twenty miles of the pub and our food is freshly cooked on site.
Craft beer and local ales; we have an exciting range from Mad Squirrel brewery as well as the flavoursome Flint Eye lager, and Level Head Session IPA from Greene King.
Gin; we have an eclectic range and have handpicked both the garnish and the Fever-tree tonic to pair perfectly!
Cocktails; premium ingredients plus enthusiastic mixologists is the perfect recipe for the perfect cocktail, all made to order with new ideas and recipes every week!
Dogs; we are extremely dog-friendly and even have a special menu for your four-legged companions.
Friendly service; customer service is paramount to us! We have a great team who are always there to offer a smiling face and answer any questions.

The team really hope you enjoy the whole King Stag experience!
